Anastasia Ax was born in Stockholm in 1979. Currently lives and works in Athens and Stockholm. Studied at the Royal College of Art, Stockholm, the School of Photography, Gothenburg, the Valand Academy, Gothenburg and the Royal Danish Art Academy, Copenhagen.

Anastasia Ax turns her own body into a noisy combustion engine that spits out black fluids onto a white environment and makes impossible the division between organism and apparatus. Ink and paper are the components in this sprawling calligraphy of the body-machine. Ink and paper? Hardly the key ingredients in an explosive new take on visceral expression in space, one might think. Time to reconsider.
